A full time job

Your office is your home.⠀⠀
You work there every day, but there are often no other staff members to keep you company. ⠀⠀

The staff room is your bedroom.⠀⠀
You spend some time in there for meetings late at night and early in the morning, but it is not ever for long enough.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀

The toilet and bathrooms are your daily break space.⠀⠀
You don’t eat in either, but you try and get some alone time.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀

The lunch breaks take place whenever your little one naps.⠀
You rarely take the opportunity to eat, instead attempting to get all of your daily jobs done in those time slots. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀

The morning meetings take place whenever you wake up.⠀⠀
You have no control over the time, but you have to be there.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀

There is no such thing as a 5pm knock off.⠀⠀
You may get some help from then, but you are always on call.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀

You do not get a salary nor can you charge out at an hourly rate.⠀⠀
Kisses and cuddles are the currency you receive, but that’s more than enough. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀

You cannot take sick days or long weekends alone.⠀⠀
You show up every day regardless, for you have the skills and trades that are relied upon.

You are not bound by the terms of any legal employment contract.⠀⠀
You are bound by love, the terms of which are to be figured out between you. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀

Being a mother is a full time job.⠀⠀
It may be a different kind of job, but it’s a job nonetheless. In fact, it’s one of the most important jobs you will ever have.⠀⠀
Period.⠀⠀
