Welcome to my Early Motherhood Poetry Book Collection.
This collection consists of three books - Dear Motherhood, Mother On and Motherhood to Me. Each are made up of poems, prose and affirmations within different motherhood stages, and outline much of my journey through motherhood to date.
My first book Dear Motherhood has captured the attention of mothers around the globe. Since it’s release in 2021, it has consistently featured in the top 100 Family Poetry Best Sellers List on Amazon in the US, CA and AUS. It carries you through, or back to, this very special time in your life. From pre-conception to life with two children, no stone is left unturned. Miscarriage, the effect on your relationship with your partner/spouse, mental health, feelings of guilt, shame and loneliness are some, but not all, of the hard truths included in this book. Also included, are letters to my children, including the viral hits “You are my reason” and “One day”. It is the perfect gift for a soon-to-be or new mother, or of course yourself - if you are in the trenches of new motherhood.
My second book Mother On is your very own manual on the continuation of early motherhood, formatted and styled in much the same way as my first. It is for all mothers, but particularly those of you who are no longer new at mothering, yet still face fresh challenges every day. Within the pages you will find new learnings, unspoken realities and healing perspectives on moments that may not mirror the perspective of a first-time mother, but reflect the continuation of learning through the words of a more seasoned one. This book lends itself to mothers who are either still immersed in early motherhood, or about to embark on a new stage within early motherhood with a child or children already at foot. Because all mothers need support, regardless of how long they have been mothering for.
My NEW third book Motherhood to Me is slightly different to the first two. While still a book of poetry and prose on early motherhood which provides an honest account of my journey, this book is focused on what motherhood has given me as a woman, wife and friend. Within it you will find my thoughts on pregnancy, postpartum, life with multiple children, the closing of some chapters and the opening of others with constant reminders of your strength in what can feel like your weakest moments. Because while we give so much to motherhood, motherhood gives us even more. Motherhood to Me is suited to all mothers, with insights past the early years, however it would be particularly useful for those needing validation and/or a perspective shift in early motherhood.
On a personal note, I am incredibly humbled by the ongoing support of my writing, and poetry books. Sharing them with the world has brought me great comfort and satisfaction. All I can hope is that they remain go-to’s when you are feeling like motherhood is particularly hard on any given day.
