Motherhood's reason
It’s because of the:⠀
Hard days,⠀
Sleepless nights,⠀
Tantrums,⠀
Constant mess,⠀
That you learn to truly appreciate:⠀
The good days,⠀
The unbroken nights,⠀
The cuddles, ⠀
The tidy home. ⠀
It’s because of the:⠀
Luke warm coffee,⠀
Leftovers of leftovers,⠀
Constant noise,⠀
Unfinished jobs, ⠀
That you learn to truly appreciate: ⠀
A hot coffee, ⠀
An entire meal,⠀
Five minutes peace, ⠀
Finishing what you start. ⠀
It’s because of the:⠀
“Natural” days,⠀
Stained tops, ⠀
Worn out shoes, ⠀
Chipped nails, ⠀
That you learn to truly appreciate: ⠀
Putting makeup on,⠀
Wearing a freshly cleaned T-shirt, ⠀
Buying a new pair of shoes,⠀
A manicure. ⠀
It’s because of the: ⠀
Late nights cleaning, ⠀
Early morning organisation,⠀
Stressful grocery shops, ⠀
Backseat grizzles,⠀
That you learn to truly appreciate: ⠀
Early nights watching movies,⠀
Sleep-ins past 7.00am, ⠀
Grocery shopping alone, ⠀
An empty car seat.⠀
But...⠀
It’s also because of the: ⠀
Time apart, ⠀
Nights alone,⠀
Growing independence,⠀
New milestones,⠀
That you learn to truly appreciate: ⠀
Your time together,⠀
The nights of reliance,⠀
The moments of dependence,⠀
The speed of time.⠀
Motherhood.⠀
Without the hard parts it would be difficult to truly appreciate the amazing parts and without a true appreciation of the amazing parts, it would all be difficult to understand. ⠀
Everything has a reason.⠀
This is motherhood’s reason, ⠀
I think.
