Tears

You start inside,

Brewing away, longing to be released.

You climb upwards,

From the pit beneath, to the windows to the world.

You reach the glass,

Rising higher and higher, a pool of emotions.

You finally escape,

A single drop, a line mapping it’s path.

You become bigger,

A river flowing, puddles forming.

You effect everything,

Hands shaking, lips trembling.

You free yourself,

Leaving shiny cheeks, causing bloodshot.

You lighten everything,

A weight’s lifted, colours resurface.

You are communication,

The unspoken, raw form.

You express emotion,

The at times fleeting, important type.

You are the droplets,

Often of babies and children, sometimes of grown mothers.

You are what we all need to release sometimes,

You are tears.
