Would it feel easier?
Mama,
Would it feel easier if I told you that you are doing a good job? That right now it is “that hard”? That you are doing some of the most important work? That it’s ok if nothing else but holding them gets done in a day?
Would it feel easier if I told you I’m struggling some days too? That I find mess so triggering? That I said sorry more than once today? That I find doing nothing other than holding them hard sometimes?
Would it feel easier if I told you that I don’t know what we are having for dinner again? That I despise cooking right now? That I’m drinking too much coffee and not enough water?
Would it feel easier if I told you that I am sick of being tired? That I can’t remember what it is to not be tired? That I would love a day of feeling energised?
Would it feel easier if I told you that I love my children more than life itself but I need breaks from them sometimes? That I love my life now more than ever, but I think about parts of my old one sometimes? That I am so grateful to be a mother, but I need to vent about the hard that comes with it?
Mama,
Would it feel easier?
To know that you’re not alone?
To understand that these feelings are normal? To truly see that this is one of the hardest but most beautiful things we will ever do?
I hope so.
Because telling you is hard.
But it’s even harder keeping it inside.
I hope this makes it feel easier.
That’s why I’m telling you.
We are in this together.
