Where the change really starts
Pregnancy has shaped more than my body.
It has shaped my mind and heart.
Because there is so much involved with carrying a baby, much more than the physical weight.
It’s the weight of the worry.
It’s the weight of the unknowns.
It’s the weight of everyone else’s investment in your pregnancy.
But mostly it’s the weight of the love you carry every day, and will do every day regardless of what happens at the end of your pregnancy.
Not much can compare to the responsibility and vulnerability attached to that.
Growth will almost always happen, and not just around the mid-section of your body.
So even though these are often unseen/and unspoken pregnancy symptoms, I think they deserve recognition.
And if you, like me, are pregnant, and feel like you are carrying a whole lot more than your baby right now, I get it.
We are,
I think.
But how beautiful is it to think we are not just shaping the start of a life, but also our own minds and hearts forever?
Because we are,
I think.
As motherhood changes us. We know this.
But for many of us, the start of the change is pregnancy.
